problem with Windows Display Driver Model

Hi there

So I have Windows 7 in my computer, and I can't just use the Aero features (including the theme), because it says that my video card driver is not WDDM compatible.

Graphics memory: 128MBShould I install one another driver? If so, which one? If I try to update, it says that I'm using the latest version of the driver and it's up to date. But it says that I can't use Aero because of my WDDM incompatibility. What should I do? I am REALLY tired and bored with the basic theme (light blue).

Guys, I think that there must be a solution because the Windows doesn't say I can't use Aero. Here's a screenshot of what it said (in the thumbnail at the end):

"The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) . Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver " .

    Hi nicc09,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers Community Forums!

Method 1: If your computer is having problems running the Aero desktop experience, which includes effects such as transparency, try using the Aero troubleshooter to fix the problem. It checks for common compatibility issues with running Aero, such as your computer's color, theme, and power settings and your computer's video card.

‌Open the Aero troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type Troubleshooter, click Troubleshooting, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, click Display Aero desktop effects. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

For more information visit the following link:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Aero-troubleshooter

For the aero feature to work the requirement is to have:

A Direct X9 compatible graphics processor with a Windows Display Driver Model(WDDM) driver.

Check that your computer meets the minimum hardware requirements for running Aero:

    ·         1-gigahertz (GHz) 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor

    ·         1 gigabyte (GB) of random access memory (RAM)

    ·         128-megabyte (MB) graphics card

Aero also requires a DirectX 9 class graphics processor that supports a Windows Display Driver Model Driver, Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel.

For best results, you might also want to follow these graphics processor recommendations:

    ·         64 MB of graphics memory to support a single monitor with a resolution that is less than 1,310,720 pixels (for example, a 17–inch flat panel LCD monitor that has a 1280 × 1024 resolution)

    ·         128 MB of graphics memory to support a single monitor with a resolution from 1,310,720 to 2,304,000 pixels (for example, a 21.1–inch flat panel LCD monitor that has up to a 1600 × 1200 resolution)

    ·         256 MB of graphics memory to support a single monitor with a resolution greater than 2,304,000 pixels (for example, a 30–inch wide-screen flat panel LCD monitor that has up to a 2560 × 1600 resolution)

**To check the compatibility you need to visit the link provided below.http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx**http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx

Let me know if this helped.
