Can't create system image because BitLocker BDEHDCFGLIB.dll is missing.

I have tried to do a full backup including system image (Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit) but this keeps failing with the following message:

"Windows Backup failed while determining libraries location of one of the users included in backup. Details: BitLocker Drive Encryption cannot be used because critical BitLocker system files are missing or corrupted. Use Windows Startup Repair to restore these files to your computer."

A search revealed 40 BitLocker items in the Windows/winsxs folder. I clicked on BitLockerWizard.exe and got this System Error message:

"The program can't start because BDEHDCFGLIB.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinistalling the program to fix this problem.

As far as I know, Windows Home Premium doesn't have BitLocker??

Apparently the missing BDEHDCFGLIB.dll is stopping me from creating a system image.

I tried using a System Repair Disc but couldn't see any way I could fix BitLocker. I really don't want to use a restore point cause of all the horrible changes it might bring and may not fix the problem.

Can I just delete the BitLocker files or alternatively install the missing BDEHDCFGLIB.dll.

Where could I get BDEHDCFGLIB.dll?

Yes, you are right in saying BitLocker is not available inWindows Home Premium. This feature is available only on Ultimate and Enterprise Editions of Windows 7.

System Error message regarding Bit locker may have generated because this version of Windows 7 doesn’t support it.
