Remote Desktop & SmartCards

Hi,

I have a smartcard reader connected to my home PC. I enabled remote desktop and connect to this PC using my notebook. I use a home banking application which needs access to the smartcard. This works fine when I work directly on the PC. However when I connect to the PC using Remote Desktop from my notebook it can't find the smartcard. I already disabled the smartcard feature in the Remote Desktop connection... What else can I do?

Thanks,

Thomas Pagel

Thomas,

Smart cards are a bit outside of the scope of support here in Answers and the TechNet community is much more equipped to support your issue:

I recommend posting your question on the forums there and someone should be able to better assist you.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance!

    Hi,

I tried but this doesn't change the situation... Just to be clear: From the "client" I want to use the smartcard attached to the "server", not the "client"...

    Thanks,

    Hi,

I would ask you to enable the smart card and other devices in the local resources tab.

    Here is how:

    a. Go to start and type Remote Desktop Connection and press enter.

    b. Browse to the Local Resources tab.

    c. Click on more under Locval devices and resources.

    d. Place a check mark on ports, smart card and other devices listed and click ok.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks and Regards:
