System restore sending Error Code 0x80070003

After trying to update a Bluetooth WDcom driver for a Trendnet 105UB on Win 7 my computer would not boot up and using system repair on Windows 7 disk did not work.

I tried system repair as well and got that error code. I cannot boot in to safe mode either or command prompt. As soon as the the Windows splash screen starts, the computer goes in to rebooting automatically.

    i am having the same problem have any of you solved it yet.

    i think my log file is exactly the same i think the following line is most significant but i can find anything about it.

    "!    cci: NCI: Failed to read config from registry. hr = 0x80070002"

    im using the Windows Deployment Services on a 2008 R2 server, and my boot image is from the windows 7 x64 dvd image versions 6.1.7600

    any ideas??

    Just encountered same issue after trying to update a Bluetooth WDcom driver downloaded from Dell website for a Dell Latitude E6410 with Windows 7. System restore did not work no matter how far back I went.

    Dear Shinmila:

    Thank you for the advice. I went to the knowledge based article and they said to used notepad in command prompt to find date and driver repsonsible for the issue. I am not sure which is exactly the root cause. So have posted a setupapi log below. Anyone want to take a crack at it?

    Hi Tom1W,

    Here is a Microsoft Knowledge Base article that talks about the problem faced by you. It appears that since you cannot perform system restore or access command prompt, you may not be able to follow the steps. In case you’re interested, have a look at it.

    After you install a device or update a driver for a device, Windows Vista or Windows 7 may not start

    Since none of the recovery options work, you might need to reinstall Windows. A custom (clean) installation of Windows will permanently delete all of the files on your computer and reinstall Windows, so only use this option if all other recovery options have been unsuccessful. After the installation, you will need to reinstall your programs and restore your files from backup copies. For more information, see Installing and reinstalling Windows‌
