What is the maximum number of midi devices windows 7 can address. All prior windows had a max of 10? I am trying to attach many musical keyboards via midi and firewire and I am getting stuck in windows 7 Ultimate 64.

I think what BennyR  is saying that if you have midi devices attached to a WIN machine, not more than 10 devices can be attached and because of this MIDI interface manufacturers have only produced midi interfaces with MAX 8 ports.  Studio musicians with many more than 8 midi devices would like the option to get one midi device with more than 8 ports, lets say 16 or the ability to install more than one 8 port device to provide more ports and and have it work properly with their system.  So... does win 7 address this limitation?

Impressive support from Microsoft, as usual.

    Hi BennyR,

Could you please explain us how are you attaching the keyboards and what happens when you do so?

    Thanks and Regards:
