Windows Update Not working (Error code C0150004)

Greetings,

Yesterday I did a system recovery on my computer back to its factory settings, and now every time I try to run Windows Update I run into a wall, wherein every attempt to use Windows Update is met with the message "Windows could not search for new updates" with an error code of C0150004.  I've tried manually installing some updates (SP1 for example) but the installer module keeps hanging and/or crashing on me.  I'm not sure what my options are at this point, apart from yet again restoring my computer to factory settings and hoping for the best (no restore points were created, so that idea's out as well).  Any help that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
