Hi,

I am using Dell laptop with MS Vista. Recently I have bought a Canon printer ( MP 568 ) and when I tried to install the printer driver and software, it was installed automatically in Chinese. After the installation was completed, the sofware was run in Chinese as well. ( the canon sw auto run in Chinese and there is no way to select the English lanugaue )

I do not have the same issue installing the Canon driver and software on another PC running Windows 7. The SW was installed successfully in English.

Is that any setting in Window Vista that I must set to ? I have tried to remove the Chinese language from the language bar completely and re installed the SW, but it did not help.

Thanks.

KJ

Hi KweeJoo,

Do you have Chinese language selected as input language?

Method1:

Let’s check in Regional and Language option if you have selected Chinese language as a second language along with English.

If it’s selected there, let’s remove or deselect the Chinese language from the input language settings.

Change your input language

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Change-your-input-language

Method 2

You may also download and install the printer drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check if it’s installing correctly.

A)Install the printer by using the ‘Add printer’ wizard.  Later it will ask to install the drivers insert the printer software CD to install the drivers.

Add or remove a printer

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Add-or-remove-a-printer

B)Install the setup files as administrator. Right click on the setup file, click “Run as Administrator”.

Method 3

If it doesn’t help, log on to any other user account and check if you are able to install the printer driver in English language. If you do not have any other user account, create a new user account with administrative privilege and check. If it works fine, it means that the other user account is corrupted.

Refer:

Create a user account

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Create-a-user-account

If you don’t have any problem in the new user account, access the link below and follow the steps to ‘fix a corrupted user profile’:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

Hope the information helps. Please post back and let us know.
