Programs running upon startup - cmd.exe; conhost.exe; csrss.exe

Hi There

My new laptop is running Win 7 Pro. What I have noticed whenever I start the laptop is that cmd.exe, conhost.exe & csrss.exe are running and using nearly 20% of the CPU. If I stop cmd.exe in Task Manager, it also stops the other 2. I have scanned usinig Malware but no threats were detected. I have read up on the latter 2 and know that cmd opens the DOS window but should it be running at startup?

Regards

Ivan

Hi Tomas

Thanks, did as you suggested, here is the command line for cmd.exe: cmd /c \00988493.bat

I checked this file in notepad and it has something to do with HP all in 1 laser which I do not have so I have deleted the file.

Regards Ivan

Try downloading Process Explorer tool . Run it after computer reboot and find "cmd.exe" process that causes problems. Right-click on it and select "Properties". Does "Command Line" section has anything then just "cmd.exe" in it? Could you copy that line here?
