Snap without resizing

Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to figure out how to snap my windows to the boarders without resizing the window. So I want there to be overlap between the windows.

I would like to snap the sides and to the corners.

Again, this is without resizing.

Thanks,

Hi

Sorry, but the Aero Snap feature is made specifically to snap and resize the windows. If you snap to the top of the screen, it will maximize the window, and snapping to the side of the screen will snap and resize the window to half screen.

Hope this helps.

Thank You for using Windows 7

Go to ease of access center, from there, scroll to the bottom and click make it easier to focus on tasks.  Scroll to the bottom and check "Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen.  Now that you've disabled that annoying feature, search for allsnap on any search engine.  If you're using a 32bit version of windows just go with the 32 bit installation for xp vista etc. and install it.  If you're using a 64bit version of windows, you'll have to do a bit more work on your own.  Create a folder in your programs folder and name it allSnap.  Drag the 4 files from the zipped 64bit version there should be a 32 and 64bit file along with two other things into that folder.  Then right click drag, and drop these into the startup folder in the start menu, or you could just create shortcuts, then cut and paste it there.  restart your computer, and done. :) You can change the settings in the taskbar next to the clock where you see the icons show up, when you're satisfied you can click the hide icon option so you never have to worry about it again. :)

What has lead you to conclude that it is controlled by a registry setting?

(Not saying you are incorrect - it's just without some backup to that - it's a pretty big jump.)

    Hi Ronnie,

Is there a way you can help me mess with the registry in order to perform the function I want?

In all reality, the snap function is cool, but this is a feature that NEEDS to be customizable as I have read a lot of complaints about the lack of levels of controls for this function.

    Thanks for the help.
