how to solve windows essential error code 0x80070490

Question

when i tried to get rid of a virus that had gotten onto my ipod, it said that it couldnt and gave me error code 0x80070490 and it said it quarantined the worm instead of getting rid of it, this is making my ipod unable to connect to my computer and i cant sync any of the new songs i bought from itunes store or anything to it, any suggestions?

I’d suggest you to download and run the latest definition updates for Microsoft Security Essentials. Then scan your computer and check if the issue persists.

To do this, follow these steps:

1. Download the Microsoft Security Essentials virus and spyware definition update file that is appropriate for your version of Windows:
