I was abut to post my question:
Win 7, 64-bit: Using Edit in Command Prompt Window ??
when I realized that you had actually answered it.
So just to make sure, in Win 7 Pro 64-bit, the DOS Editor is not available.
Correct ??

The "edit.com" program is no longer provided as part of Windows. You'll need to seek a replacement for it.

You can use the edit command in Windows 7.
Open the start menu and search "command."
Open it and type "edit file.txt"
However, the edit is not available in 64-bit versions of Windows 7.
Comment utiliser la commande Edit ou équivalent sous Win 7
Dos 6.1.7600
