New laptop (running Windows 7) will print but will not scan document to computer.... contacted HP but they will not help... I have loaded the new drivers and the HP solution center but it will not open... I have tried the Windows 7 Fax and Scan but does not recognize the scanner.... Is there any solution or do I need to go back to my old laptop?

Hi  Jeri_Kae,

What is the model number of the Scanner?

You may check the compatibility of the scanner with Windows 7 with this link.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

I would suggest you to contact HP and check for the compatibility with Windows 7 and ask for the latest drivers, download, install and check if that help. Before installing, try to uninstall the previous drivers.

Hope it helps

Thanks and regards

I am hearing that MANY folks are having problems with scanning under win 7 (as I am).  Lot of the same issue...either won't scan at all, or hangs part way thru a scan, or after first page of multipage scan.

Unfortunate...time to get an apple.
