0xc0000005

Recent problems with my Lexmark X7675.  After printing I receive an error message that says:

Lexmark Web Gateway has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I'm thinking it's an issue with the latest Windows updates.  I use XP SP3 and have not seen this problem until this past week.

Hi !

Same problem with my Lexmark X2670 under windows XP SP3, solved thanks to FromSa answer.

However no need to delete the .exe, just go to

start > programs > Lexmark xxxx >

and find "lexmark connect", check "no", finish and the message will not appear again.

Thank you !

Find C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\lxdwwbgw.exe and delete or rename it so that it doesn't run.

This program just sends printer stats to Lexmark.

None of your suggestions help!  I have the same problem, but without ANY error code.  I have been on the phone with Lexmark for hours on end.  They are incapable of identifying or fixing the problem.  I have been in touch with Microsoft - they took control of my system for hours - with the same dismal results.  Restoring the system does nothing, neither does deleting the drivers as well as all registry entries pertaining to Lexmark and re-installing them after a cold start.  Nothing has helped so far.  I do hate to have to reformat my hard drive and re-install my XP SP3 system just to get rid of a problem that showed up after one of the automatic Microsoft updates. I have no faith in the capabilities of the first line techies either from Lexmark or Microsoft, even 2nd line Microsoft techies were no help!  I am utterly disgusted at the lack of response I have been getting from Lexmark as well as Microsoft.  Nobody appears to take an interest in getting this confounded problem resolved.

    Hi,

Do you get error 0XC0000005 after printing a document?

Try these steps and check if it fixes the problem:

Perform a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

Step 1: Perform a system restore.

Refer this KB article for instructions:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084

If system restore solves the problem, then install the updates one by one to check which update caused it.

You can check for the installed updates in add or remove programs under control panel.

**Step 2:**Remove all the Lexmark printer software and reinstall them.

**Follow these steps:**a. Click "Start" then "Control Panel".

    b. Choose "Add or Remove Programs".

    c. Select your printer software and/or drivers and click "Remove".

Refer this link for help:How to change or remove a program in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307895
