Unzip disappeared?

Recently, Window's Photo Gallery somehow became the standard opening program for my .zip files (I have no clue how this happened) and now I can't get my .zip's open. I've tried choosing standard program and so on, but I can't seem to get my system back to standard opening...

Does anyone have any clue how I can get my computer to recognize and open .zip-files again?

Hi,

Click Start, type regedit.exe and press Enter.

Navigate to the following branch:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\FileExts.zip

Delete the sub-key named "UserChoice"

Close Regedit.exe

If that does not help, get the .zip file association fix from here:

File association fixes for Windows Vista:

if its not helping try third party software like winzip or winrar which can handle almost all zipped formats
