A program opens when pressing mute

Mute Button

When I press the mute button on my HP Laptop it works. However simultaneously it launches Excel. I seldom use Excel so I really want to get rid of this unwanted convenience.

    Hi Guitarlover67,

    ·        How do you mute the sound?

    ·        Is it from the taskbar? Or do you have any media buttons set on the laptop keyboard?

    ·        Have you pinned Excel application to the taskbar?

    ·        What is the model number of the laptop?

    If it is keyboard button then I would suggest you to reinstall HP keyboard drivers.
