I installed CoD4 on my computer but it says it has some compatibility problems. Can anyone please tell me what I need to download for CoD4 start working?

I have 64 bit windows 7, and my PC satisfies minimum requirements

Now I tried to run it in compatible mode: for multiplayer it says:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you`re running.

Check your computer`s system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit)

or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

    for singleplayer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\mss32.dll

is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again

using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

Do I need to install something to get compatible?!

Try turning the setting down in the game. Start with the "Optimal Settings", but if that does not work then  lower resolution and turn off Anti Aliasing. Then in the texture settings turn the Anistrophic filtering down and the texture quality to automatic. (probably all already turned down or off ).

Other settings may have to be turned down as well. The above relate to the RAM, but if your cpu specs are too low you will need to turn down things like - ragdoll, smoke, number of corpses, bullet impact.

btw - you don't need 64bit windows with only 2GB RAM.

EDIT: Looking at the box I see your RAM specs are not too low. I'm thinking I focused too much on specs, but personally, I never trust the minimum specs on the box - been there, done that. The 'recommended' settings are more reliable.
