Hello Sandy59,

  • How long have you had this issue?
  • Let us know the exact error message.

We need to check the faulty module which is causing the issue.

Please check event viewer to find the faulty module that could be causing the issue with Internet Explorer:

Check out these articles that talk about how to analyze Event viewer entries on the computer:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Open-Event-Viewer

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/What-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

Meanwhile try resetting Internet Explorer (IE) & register files.

  1. Click Start, please type "inetcpl.cpl" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search bar and press Enter to open the Internet options window.
  2. Switch to the Advanced tab.
  3. Click the Reset Internet Explorer Settings button.
  4. Click Reset to confirm the operation.
  5. Click Close when the resetting process finished.
  6. Uncheck Enable third-party browser extensions option in the Settings box.
  7. Click Apply, click OK.
  8. Restart IE.

Reset IE disclaimer:

Please note that running Reset Internet Explorer Settings will reset all user-defined settings including those set by installed extensions, toolbars and other add-ons to IE Defaults. This includes all Security, Privacy and Zone settings. Also this will clear browsing history, delete all temporary Internet Files, cookies, form data and especially all stored passwords.
