Hi Hyllus,

Below is the code for desktop.ini file. You may copy the content below in a notepad and save it as Desktop.ini in the programs folder.

[.ShellClassInfo]

LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21781

I hope this information was useful to you.

    Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp! I'm trying for like 5 hours to no avail!

    The desktop.ini is present in the program files folder and it says this:

    [.ShellClassInfo]

    LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21781

    ...but still not localized name! The same goes for Program Files (x86) and Users! I don't know when they did change help me return them to localized forms...

    I have the same problem in Windows 7 Greek, but despite the fact that there is the "Desktop.ini" file in the Program Files (x86) folder, there is no translation in Greek. Is any solution through registry?? The other system folders display Greek localization just fine...e.g. Users-> Χρήστες

    Any news about localization? I uninstalled hp games yesterday and the program files (x86) folder returned from localized to english form (Αρχεία Εφαρμογών (χ86) to Program Files (X86).

    The desktop.ini file is on the Program Files (X86) folder. I search the registry on Explorer RegKeys and there are the localization path.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!

    Hi,

    Let us change the Region and Language settings on your computer of your choice (choose the language in which this folder is wriiten "Αρχεία Εφαρμογών") and then try installing these programs.

    Here is how:

    1. Click on start and in the search bar type "Region and Language" and then click on it in the programs pane.
    2. Go to the Location tab.
    3. Choose the country of this language.
    4. Click Apply and then Ok.
    5. Restart the computer.

    For more information about changing the Region refer to the following link:

    I would also recommned you to uninstall the program that changed the name of this folder and then install it in a different folder.

    Install a program

    Hope this helps.
