Code 19 on graphics adapter

Since update of Windows Live 3 days ago, I have had a Code 19 error on my graphics adapter in Device Manager and I am unable to use many programs. I have uninstalled, downloaded, and reinstalled drivers, tried system restore, and anything else I can think of. Is there something in the registry which I can do to fix it?

Hi,

Have you added any new devices lately or even major software such as antivirus, security products, or

even heavy graphics using programs?

Please scan your system with Malwarebytes and add Prevx to be absolutely certain this issue is not due to

malware. Please do this and do not think that something could have gotten past your present protection as

they all have holes especially for new "in the wild" releases.

Prevx - Home - Free small, fast, exceptional CLOUD protection, works with other security programs. This is

a scanner only, VERY EFFECTIVE, if it finds something come back here or use Google to see how to remove.

PCmag - Prevx - Editor'a Choice

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever suspect malware UPDATE it and then run it as

a scanner.

Ok hopefully you are malware free so not make sure corruption is not part of the issue and do not skip this

step as it is an important one to give the next the best chance to work.

Try these to clear corruption and repair/replace damaged/missing system files.

Run DiskCleanup - Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup

Start - type in Search box -  COMMAND   find at top of list -  RIGHT CLICK  -  RUN AS ADMIN

sfc /scannow

generates in Windows Vista cbs.log

Then run checkdisk - schedule it to run at next start and then Apply OK your way out then restart.

Make sure you have a copy of the latest driver from device maker (and I would even download a couple

of back driver versions). Download - SAVE and note where you put them. (Device Maker is whoever made

the actual display device not who built the computer usually.)

Now Device Manager - Display Adapter - Right Click on - UNINSTALL - check the REMOVE DRIVER BOX.

Reboot when you can.

Go to where you put the driver - Right Click on it - RUN AS ADMIN.

Hope that helps.
