I have just reformatted my computer and it turns out I don't have any of the old disks with the drivers. My Network card says it is RAS Async Adapter and I am under the impression that I require a driver for this in order to connect to the internet.  Everytime I find a driver download for the driver and click on it, it sends me to windows update but since it is not for a compter online that doesnt help me. I need a driver that I can download on to a flash drive and upload to my other computer.  Any thoughts????

I believe that's an Intel NIC so you could try on Intel's website. Yes, you need drivers for all your hardware. Here is general information about where to get them:

Never get drivers from Windows Update. Get them from:

  1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
  2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
  3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

  1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
  2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
