stop email from opening automatically

How do I stop emails from opening automatically when I click on a folder like Spamfighter or Junk Mail?  I read that once you open an email, the sender knows that they have a good email address and will continue to send more mail.  I think that there is a way to stop this from happening, but I can't find any way to stop the automatic opening. I am using Windows Mail on Vista 32 bit.

Your e-mail address can only be verified in an HTML spam message, so your choices are:

1: Uncheck the Preview Pane. (You can add the Preview Button to the toolbar.

2: Read all messages in plain text.

3: Tools | Options | Security. Check: "Block imanges...............".

Or all of the above.

Are you using Vista's Windows Mail in Windows 7? Probably not and that would explain why it didn't help you. Post back and tell us what e-mail program you are using and perhaps we can help.
