Hi!

A box has been flashing on my screen for a few days.

It's very fast, so I used a camera to be able to read what it says:  C:Windows\System32\cmd.exe

I googled it and found this answar:  http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaprograms/thread/023073c1-31d8-4168-bd51-fff0f3c69c82

I had already tried to restore system, and I've now tried the other advice: use the System File Checker tool.

There were found several damaged files, for details I should look in the c:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log, but the PC will not give me access, telling me to talk to administrator.

I thought that was me....

What to do now.....?  The box keeps flashing....

“How to analyze the log file entries that the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker (SFC.exe) program generates in Windows Vista”

If SFC finds serious errors it can not fix, you may have to do a Vista Repair Upgrade Install.

If you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, borrow one from a friend.

Read this Tutorial on how to do a Repair Install:

Cheers.
