- I have windows xp and upgraded to win 7 months ago. was playing a game and it crashed. after that I'm now having trouble getting my audio back. there's a red X on my audio icon on the bottom right. when i click on it it goes directly to troubleshoot and
when it finishes loading it says "one or more audio services isn't running". i right click on the icon and go to either playback devices and recording devices and it will say "This computer cannot play audio because the windows service is not enabled.....would
you like to enable the Windows Service Audio". when i click yes it will say "no audio devices are installed".
2)i go on device manager and under Sound, video and game controllers i have High Definition Audio Device installed. i've tried uninstalling/restarting it-nothing. checked for
changes to it-nothing. tried updating it-it's up to date. i've tried disable/enable-nothing.i've also checked the dependency tab and all dependencies are there and working fine....so those sulotions didn't work for me.
3)i've read some posts saying that under services i have to check for a few things to see if they're running but first and foremost i have to run as admin....i go on services and do not see the**'run as admin'** option (this
is my comp and no one else uses it and so i would assume that when i log on im already admin)....so i read that i have to check ifplug and play is started-yes (under automatic);windows audio endpoint builder is started-yes
(under automatic);multimedia class scheduler--does not show up which concerns me because in every post i've read it says to check for this;windows audio- set to automatic but is not started. everytime i try and start it i
get Error 1075 along with windows could not start the Windows Audio Service on local computer. so these two are my main issue.
- i've tried recovery and restore to previous dates still nothing. tried the command promp solution but have no luck with that because it says i have to log on as admin. i dont know what else to do. please help! thanks!
