persistence Module has stopped working

This is the message that pops up every time Windows 7 loads on my new PC (Acer Veritron M275).

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

Application Name: igfxpers.exe

The message says --> check online for a solution and close program (I've done this and the problem has not been solved)

The message's second option --> close the program (what program?)

I've also tried just closing the message window (red "x" exit)

Thanks for your help with this nagging error message that checks online for a solution but doesn't share any further information with me about it.

Jane

Updating your video driver will probably resolve this.  igfxpers.exe is related to intel graphics hardware (may be present with NVidia also).

Hi it's me again.  I'm still getting the "persistence Module is not working" message.  I've done quite a bit of research.  Suggestions sound all over the place, like nobody really knows what's up.  I updated all drivers.  I have plenty of malware and spyware protection.  I haven't done the clean boot process.  I also read advice somewhere on the net about going into the registry and removing a registry entry since what this program does relates to display resolution options that I can't relate to.

Does anybody have a new solution to this nagging (and seemingly intermittent) problem?  Thanks.

    Jane
