Original title: Error encountered in Windows Vista Command Prompt

I have three login ids created on my Windows Vista Home Premium. I am now trying to disable DEP by running the bcdedit.exe script through the command prompt. When I type the string and press enter, I get a message saying "The boot configuration data store could not be opened. Access is denied" Can anyone help?

Hi Hemant,

Before trying to run the commands in the command prompt, I’d suggest you to open the command prompt window as administrator.

Follow these steps:

a.    Click “Start”, type “cmd” in the Start search box.

b.    Right-click “cmd” and select “Run as administrator”.

Try executing the commands now. This should fix issue.
