I go to Windows Explorer in Windows 7 to locate my photos. I then right click on the photo, go to properties, and the properties box pops up. Under the Details tab I fill in the Title, Subject, and Author. I then fill in keywords and add comments. I also
enter information under the General tab.
When I save these photos to a flash drive and load them into XP I lose all of the information I had entered in Details. All the info I entered under the General tab still shows up.
The Windows 7 laptop does not belong to me. I am using windows to create a database and I plan of utilizing the Windows search engine in Win Explorer. I have already labeled over 3000 photos and all information is extremely important. Photos are being sent
to me, some from Win 7. My database is using XP.
I really feel like there is a way that XP can read Win 7 information. I just can't figure out how.
Any help you can give to me will be appreciated. I am even willing to use a third party software.
Thanks

OK...I thought that was what you meant but wanted to confirm it.
Sometimes metadata is stripped from photos by software. Are
you just copy/pasting the files from your flash drive into a folder
on your XP machine or are you utilizing some type of library
program?
Maybe 'Microsoft Pro Photo Tools version 2' would be worth a
try for viewing any existing metadata:
(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)
