How do I disable "open with" pop up?

Question

Whenever i click on a icon or anything in the search icon this window opens that sais open with and i can only access the applications from that. how do i get it so the open with window doesnt pop up whenever i open an application?

Hi yalexman03,

Let’s try this steps to set the programs as default for a specific file type.

1.In the Start Menu search box type the word default and then click on the first result.

2.The Default Programs main window will open and you will see four options.

3.Click on the Set your default programs link.

1.After a short Loading... screen you will see a list with all the programs that you can configure.

Here you can set a program as default for a specific file type, extension or protocol.

Do you get the option to open with while opening any application or any saved file?

Let’s follow these steps to solve the issue.

Method 1:

1.Right-click the file that you want to open, click Open With and then click Choose Default Program.

2.Put a check in the option ’Always use the selected program to open this kind of file’.

You may also choose which programs you want Windows to use by default to open the files.
