Hi jmmahp,

What exactly you mean Windows Journal got deleted? Do you mean to say that you’re not able to find the application anywhere on the computer?

For your information: Windows Journal is not available as a standalone download for Windows Vista since it’s a built in application. For Windows 2000 and Windows XP, the download is available.

Let us try to search for Windows Journal on your computer.

1. Right click on the plain desktop and click on New. Check if you’ve Journal Document available.

2. Click on Start; in the start search type Journal and see if you get Windows Journal under the Programs.

If you do not find it in any of the above methods, then try the steps below.

1. Click on Start; Click on Control Panel.

2. Click on Programs. Click on Turn windows features on or off.

3. A list of windows features will be populated. Select Tablet PC Components.

It will take some time to configure. Once it is finished, the window closes by itself.

Now check if you’ve Windows Journal either through start search or by right clicking on desktop and clicking on New.

If none of the above steps work, then I would suggest you to use the tools mentioned in the link below.

How to repair the operating system and how to restore the operating system configuration to an earlier point in time in Windows Vista**http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212**

Hope this information is helpful.

try this ! i'm on also on it ttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/316110

For their point I don't know ?.  I see Journal as light, fast, OS integrated, secure (? don't seem now), go straight to take note rather than first accessing folders/pages... but OneNote is good also but you don't have this pen input straightforward usage scenario...

During the most recent update my windows journal was deleted from my computer.  I use it a lot and am really disappointed.  I found this:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53002

at the Microsoft website, but when I try to install it I am told it is for a 32-bit machine.  I have not found it for a 64-bit machine.

WHY MICROSOFT?  What is the point of deleting windows journal???
