    Hi Justinrpg7,

    1. Which operating system are you using?
    2. Are you able to scan the flash drive on another computer?
    3. Are you getting this error only with this or other flash drives also?
    4. What happens when you click on Y/N?

Try to perform a check disk for now. Here are the steps.

    1. Click Start >> All Programs.
    2. Click Accessories
    3. Right click on Command Prompt and choose “run as administrator”.
    4. Enter the command CD /D <insert drive letter here> (for example, if the usb drive was the E drive I would input the command CD /D E:\ )
    5. Press Enter on your keyboard
    6. Enter the command CHKDSK /F

    Post your results back.

A year or so ago, this same thing had happened on a friends lap top and docking station and the company's very able computer tech after trying everything else went to microsoft.com and downloaded microsoft drivers. It worked!

A few weeks ago all of the sudden my computer would not recognize my usb flash drives. One day it worked, the next it didn't. After many, many attempts and searching on microsoft forums, help sections and everything else I could think of to fix this issue and not finding any, I went to microsoft.com to download drivers in a desperate attempt. When LO! and BEHOLD! I found a flash drive manager from who else????? MICROSOFT! Why they didn't use this as a solution is beyond me, but here it is:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=94991901-bfc4-485e-bcae-c9df0accdaae

I hope it works for you like it did for me!!!! I opened this manager after downloading it and then I opened MY COMPUTER and there was the flash drive that I had just inserted!

    Hi Justinrpg7,

Are you still getting the same error?

You reply mentions “Windows has made corrections to the file system.”

This issue might be due to a virus infection and you might have to format your flash drive after you back up important data from it.
