So im sorting by clicking on a column header in Explorer (Date modified), and the files get sorted... BUT ...

they get sorted by month, then day, then year??

e.g. here's the order of dates that i'm staring at right now.( i'd upload a screenshot of it, but dont know how)

12/30/2009

12/22/2009

11/15/2009

10/28/2010

10/28/2010

10/8/2009

9/29/2009

9/22/2009

9/3/2010

8/8/2010

6/28/2009

How in the heck could that be a useful sort order!!? Is there some way to tell it to sort the dates in this column chronoligically?

I have enough other problems and frustration with Explorer columns, i hope that there's an explanation/fix to this. Thanks

Oh Im on Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit

Thanks!

Hi gaterwink,

Step 1: Change the date format and check if that makes any difference

a)   Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Options.

b)   Under “Formats” tab > Change the date format to > Day\Month\Year

c)   Save the changes by clicking “Apply and Ok”

What can I do with regional formats and languages?

Check to see if modified date displays as expected

Thanks and Regards:
