ClearType Tuner not saving changes

Anonymous

I can't get the tuner to save changes in pages 3 and 4 like I can in 1 and 2.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a new Acer laptop.

Is there a fix?

    Hi Selvan777,

If you return back into the cleartype tuner settings, it will reset.

    Thanks, but please clarify.

Do you mean to say that it will reset "just the last two pages"?

Because I clearly pointed out that, upon re-entry, the first two pages retain the adjustments I've made.

    Hi Selvan777,

Once you setup cleartype settings, they are set and saved. If you return back into the cleartype tuner settings, it will reset.

Let me know if you are facing any issues with the font clarity after tuning up the Cleartype.

    Thanks and Regards:

    Thanks for the support, Ajay!

I did a clean boot and the results are unchaged, those being the following without error messages:

    1. I search for adjust cleartype text and launch cleartype text tuner
    2. the check box to turn it on is left checked, clicked next
    3. the text says my monitor is set to it's native resolution, clicked next
    4. page 1 of 4 has box 1 selected, left as is, clicked next
    5. page 2 of 4 has box 2 selected, clicked to change to box 1, clicked next
    6. page 3 of 4 has box 1 selected, left as is, clicked next
    7. page 4 of 4 has box 2 selected, clicked to change to box 6, clicked next
    8. it says I have finished and displays a green check mark in the window, clicked finish

Now, whether after a restart of not, I return to the tuner and click through the pages, I see the change I made to page 2 are saved (meaaning to say that when I arrive to page 2 box 1 is still selected rather than the initial box 2 when the tuner was first launched).  But page 4 still shows box 2 selected even though I clicked to change it to box 6.

I have done all 4 pages independently and as groups and have found that only changes to page(s) 1 and/or 2 are saved, any changes to page(s) 3 and/or 4 are not regardless of the selected box.

Personally, the only change  find very beneficial to my eyes is box 6 of page 4.

    Thanks,

    Selvan

    Hi Selvan777,

    1)   How do you know that the tuning steps aren’t saving?

    2)   Do you get any error messages?

Third party programs present on the computer might be conflicting with ClearType text Tuner; I would suggest you to check if the issue persists in clean boot state

Step 1: Put the computer in clean boot and then check to see if the issue persists

Follow Step 1in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works fine after a clean boot, you can infer that some third party services are causing the problem.

Proceed with the remaining steps to pin-point out the third party service.

After you figure out the problem causing program, you may have to update or install a higher version of the program, if you seldom use that software you can consider uninstalling it.

Important: - Remember to put the computer back to normal startup follow step 7 in the link.

    Thanks and Regards:
