missing/ corrupt QtGui4.dll

Question

Basically got an email from amd support after asking them if they are at fault for a program crashing, and they told me its QtGui4.dll, where is the safest place to download this file to replace it. this stupid 'registry check' things are ____ and only fix a few problems for free ( i am not paying for their software that i'll never use again ).

plus, any files these programs dont recognise they treat it as an error and mess things up that are perfectly legitimate.

I only installed windows 7 a week ago, how can i be having problems already? :S someone please help ha

Hello xolomn,

The file QtGui4.dll is a legitimate component of Adobe Photoshop Elements. Do you have Adobe Photoshop installed on your computer?

Do a search for the QtGui4.dll and then check the path of the file. It may be malware if not in the correct path for Adobe.

Download Microsoft Security Essentials and scan for malware from here. Or use any other virus scanner to check and verify your computer is not

infected.

You have installed several games that if downloaded may contain a virus.

install the adobe free reader ect http://www.adobe.com/downloads/  may include that dll.

No it does not.

The file QtGui4.dll is a legitimate component of Adobe Photoshop Elements.

thats not the answer, i must admit, the support from microsoft is pretty dire. No matter how many times i told anyone i dont have Photoshop elements, i am told i have :S. nvm, I went to the hassle of formatting (4 hours just to install patches for WoW) thanks, to have the same problem.. so i got my money back for the over priced windows 7 and am now a proud owner of a Macbook.

Thank you for your reply.. It's actually when I'm starting AMD Overdrive: upon opening the program there's a little grey box saying "AMD overdrive is initialising" then the windows error window pops up asking me to search online for resolving it or just close the program.. it's in the detailed error report that's it says the cause of the problem is that .dll. (the name of the problem is APPCRASH) if that's any more help. Thanks. *there's been a couple of installs due to it being a clean install of win 7, new HDD etc, but only like, mobo drivers, network, gfx, and install of WoW, crysis and supreme commander.. No major software as such

• By "program crashing" in your post, which program are you referring to?
• When exactly do you get the error message?
• Did you make any software changes on the computer prior to the issue?

QtGui4.dll is not a Windows file. It seems to be associated with the program - Adobe Photoshop Elements. Is this program installed on your computer, by chance?
