Windows 7 buffer problems

I recenlty bought a gateway p.c. with windows 7, 64 bit installed.  Since I opened it, the system fly's, with the exception of video buffering.  Ex.  It takes forever to load a video on you tube and when it does, the video play speed catches up to the buffer limit.  I am using a high speed internet connection and never had a problem with my laptop which was running Vista.  I changed my system performance to High and that still doesn't help.  I'm confused how a brand new p.c. out of the box, buffers slower than my 4 year old laptop.  Please help.

Hey Cubsfan101,

There can be several factors which could cause the issue.

Give a try with the following:

  1. Try installing the latest Flash Player.

Uninstall and re-instal flash player:

  1. Optimize IE and check:

To reset Internet Explorer automatically, click the Fix this problem in the below link. Then click Run in the File Download dialog box, and follow the steps in this wizard.

4.      Also temporarily disable Windows firewall and any other security software installed on your computer.

If nothing works, check in safe mode with networking to see if the issue persists or not.

Start computer in safe mode with networking (HOLD F8 while computer is starting up).

To start your computer in safe mode with networking, you can refer the below link:
