Original Title: Error Code 0x80070005 on Windows 7-64

I have a new computer with Windows 7-64 installed by the store. While having trouble installing a printer, I selected Control Panel..Devices and Printers and found two icons with "!" marks beside them. I left clicked on the icon and selected Trouble Shooting. The following window came up for both the printer and my computer icon ! mark.  "Error occured while troubleshooting." I them selected "vies error details" from the bottom of the window and got the following information.  path: unknown,  Error code: 0x80070005,  Source: engine,  Context: elevated. This information came up for both icons on the devices and printers page.

What is the problem and how can I fix it?

Hi rnfbell,

·        What happens when you try to install printer? Do you get any particular error message or error code?

·        Are youlogged in to an administrator user account?

Try the steps below and check if you are able to run the troubleshooter and check if it helps in fixing the issue so that you can install the printer.

a. Open Troubleshooting by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, clicking Find and fix problems.

b. Click on Hardware and Sound.

c. Right click on Hardware and Devices and select "Run as administrator" and check if it works.
