Make a program visible to another user account

As the administrator I've installed a program on my Windows 7 computer.  This program does not, however, show up on one of the other users accounts.

The other user is a "Standard User" password protected.  Isn't there supposed to be a way I can change this so this same program will show up on the other users desktop?

Hello Bob Bowers,

Please look at the solution in the following post from Bruce Chambers:

http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7security/thread/2a8cd81c-18df-4468-afbe-2394f70e0cb1

He states:

If the legacy application you're installing places its shortcuts only in the Start Menu of the person performing the installation, all

that you may have to do is move those Start Menu entries to the same location in the

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder and/or the C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop folder.

Please reply back and let us know if this solution helped to resolve your issue.

Sincerely,

Marilyn

Hi Bob – Welcome to Microsoft Answers Community.

During installation you always get to choose,

whether the program just shall be installed for you

    or everybody on the machine.

For the other user to be able to see the program, a shortcut

shall be made on each accounts, and that programs registry

entries shall be added under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE.

I hope you find this information useful. If you need any further assistance,

please feel free to contact me and let me know.

I hope this information was helpful…

    Have a nice day…

    Best regards,

    Fisnik
