Hello Hellomynameistim,

To resolve this we changed registry entry "LocalCacheDrive" to a valid drive letter C from D.

Path for registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Delivery

{Note:- drive letter C --> indicates that the default location of the program files is on C: drive.**}**Hope this helps.

I'm having the same issue as Hellomynameistim. I tried what you suggested above, but when prompted for a location to download the files to, I have no idea where to save it on the C:\ Drive. Do I browse for the specific program file (i.e., Outlook?) and save the update there? Help!

    Best regards,

    Deborah

It seems your MS office product require some files. Whenever you start the office product and installer starts, just enter the MS Office Setup CD in CD/DVD Rom and give the path of CD/DVD to installer to complete the setup.

Secondy, Download the the Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter update from download center and try to install it manually. If still issue exist try the steps provided by Pradeep mentioned below,

Thank you!  I have had this issue for a while now. Every time I started an office product, the installer would start running and get this error. The registry fix allowed it to do whatever it needed. It also was preventing Office SP update.

    Regards,

    Bruce

    Hi Hellomynameistim,

    Thanks for visiting answers.microsoft.com forums

I just want you to confirm that your Vista installation and your Office installation is installed on your C drive.  It’s odd you are receiving an Invalid Drive D:\  It seems that it’s trying to point to your CD/DVD Rom drive.

My suggestion would be to try and manually download the update.  You can do this by simply going to http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx and type in the update.

See if this works and please let us know if you make any progress.
