When crossover Cable and Wireless shared simultaneously, how do I use cable share not wireless share?

Hi

I have two laptops connected with a wireless router. Then I think it's too slow.

So I got a crossover cable to connect them together.

But I got a problem.

When I try to copy the file, I found it is using the wireless network, which is much slower.

Until I turn off the wireless, windows begin to use cable network sharing.

So I want to ask, if I can specify the cable network instead of wireless network. Or maybe even close that?

It seems windows 7 has separate sharing option for public and private, but Vista SP2 not, at least I didn't find it :-(

Thank you!

Hi 无声蓝调,

Thanks for using the Answers Forum.

You may have to disable the wireless connection of the laptop your moving information from.

This will force the network information into the other laptop.

You can then bridge the Internet connected network adapter to the wired network adapter so both laptops will have Internet access.

A network bridge is software or hardware that connects two or more networks so that they can communicate. You can create only one network bridge on a computer, but one bridge can handle any number of network connections.

1. Open Network Connections by clicking the
Start button , clicking
Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking
Network and Sharing Center, and then clicking Manage network connections.
--- ---
2. Hold down CTRL and select each network connection that you want to add to the bridge.
3. Right-click one of the selected network connections, and then click
Bridge Connections. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

You shouldn't create a bridge between an Internet connection and a network connection because it creates an unprotected
link between your network and the Internet, which makes your network accessible to anyone on the Internet.
--- --- ---
---
