The box saying windows no disk comes up as soon as you turn on the computer and the desk top comes on.Previous t friday night, that same box woud come up but i could remove it by pressing on the continue box twice. Friday night, my son removed my old all in one HP printer and put in a new HP PHoto smaret coputer. it says wireless on it but we are using it with an USB cable.  now the printer takes forever to print but it does go faster if i keep pressing the windows no disk box on continue , during which the box may disappear for 1 milli second and then it prints faster.   very frustrating. The box saying windows no disk,  comes up as soon as the desk top comes up after turnng the machine on.

I used to be able to remove the box by pressing "Continue" twice" but it got worse after my son installed a new HP  Photosmart printer friday night. then, I could press it 100 times and the box would not disappear ; the printer works very slowly going thru all sorts of noises and says it is printing for many seconds  before it prints. I have to keep presing on the "continue" box to get it to disappear for one millisecond which enables the printer to work faster.  the printer says wireless on it but we are using a USB cable which we are allowed to do.

    Hi Karthik,

Thank you for getting back to me. The message normally appears 3-5 minutes after not using the computer. So for example I leave the computer (the computer is on; for example on MSN homepage or whatever) for a few minutes, when I come back the error message appears on the screen.

We have not made any changes to our computer lately. But I can remember it started to happen after we installed an external back-up hard drive.

I will try to do what you suggested and hopefully it will stop.

The error message ( Photoscreen saver-no disk (there is no disk in the drive please insert a disk into drive\device\harddisk 1\dr1 ) just came out of no where. I cannot remember doing anything to the computer at all and this only started to appear since last week. The other error message has been going on for ages.

    Thank you,

    Nancy
