Hello Markatarc,
Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Answers Forum! In order to fix your issue, try looking at the following information:
Make sure you’ve turned on network discovery on both the computers for them to be detected.
Follow the steps mentioned below to do the same:
- Open Advanced sharing settings by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel . In the search box, type network , click Network and Sharing Center , and then, in the navigation pane, click Change advanced sharing settings.
- Click the chevron to expand your current network profile.
- Click Turn on network discovery, and then click Save changes. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If you are on a HomeGroup, please check the following:
Why can’t I print to a printer in my HomeGroup?
· Check to see if the printer is turned on. If it’s on, try restarting it.
· If the printer is connected to and shared by a computer, make sure the computer is turned on.
· The member of the HomeGroup stopped sharing the printer.
· Network Discovery might be turned off. Learn how to turn Network Discovery back on.
· An incorrect printer driver is installed. Check the printer’s manufacturer website for updated drivers.
· Your computer might not be connected to the network the HomeGroup is on. Make sure the computer has network/Internet access. Try having Windows 7 troubleshoot the Internet connection for you.
Please let me know if this helps !
