I recently upgraded from xp to windows 7 through the customization option on my Inspiron 6000 The sound was not working properly but there were drivers available from dell.  I found the proper drivers but whenever I tried to install them, I got the following error: AN ERROR OCCURRED WHILE UNZIPPING. ONE OR MORE FILES WERE NOT SUCCESFULLY UNZIPPED. THE ERROR CODE IS 40. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi grit_rooster,

•Does this happen only with sound drivers?

Step 1: First try to download the driver to a different location and try installing it.

Step 2: You may also try right clicking on the .exe file for driver and select run as administrator to install the drivers.

Step 3: You may also try to download the drivers on another computer and extract it and check if it works.

Hope this information is helpful.
