Thunking Spooler????

I recently attepted adding a Canon iP4600.  Worked with Canon for an hour, and ensured that I had the correct driver and setup combo.  As soon as we did, I began receiving "Thunking Spooler APIS from 32 to 64 Process has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."   So much for loading a driver and plugging in a new printer.  Anyone have a solution.  It would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Hi Mitch625,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Windows Answers Forums.

We get such error message if we try to print a document in a 32-bit program on a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista.

I have few steps which might help you.

Step 1

You may download the hotfix available in the below link:

You experience problems when you try to print a document in a 32-bit program on a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941962/en-us

Step 2

Try enabling the following:

1.Click > Start > Control panel > Internet Options > Advanced Tab > Security

section.

Select the following three options:

1.Allow active content to run files on My Computer.

  1. Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid.
