The system starts very slowly and from time to time doesn't want to start at all.

In system log there is some errors which shows repeatedly.

I found the almost the same error post on the forum but they new which HD was faulty. I have totally 6 HD with 7 partitions and both XP Pro SP3 and W7 Pro on my computer. The error shows on XP.

The error mesage is:

Product: Windows Operating System

ID: 51

Source: Disk

Version: 5.2

Symbolic Name: IO_WARNING_PAGING_FAILURE

Message: An error was detected on device %1 during a paging operation.

Explanation

An input/output (I/O) request to a memory-mapped file failed and the operation was retried.

User Action

If these events are logged regularly on a primary system drive, replace the device. Otherwise, no user action is required.

The first question is which disc?

Any suggestions?

As an aside, make sure your power supply can handle all the drives you have in your system. I don't think that's your issue but it's an important component to look at while troubleshooting, too.

Well, the external discs are USB connected. But Long Test failed on the intern disc.

I think that it may be right that I have too many devices in my system. So before I’ll do something more I decided to shift my data and thru out 2 of the oldest discs. After that I will proceed with the tests and let you know the result.

If the external drives are OEM like Western Digital My Books, then contact the external drive mftr. for how to test their drives. If they are just drives which you put into external drive enclosures, you can always attach them directly to your motherboard. Just unplug one of the drives that is already there. The Long Test is important and if the test didn't progress on a drive it is almost certainly toast.

Well, SeaTool sees only 4 of my 6 HD (2 of them are extern USB and them do not show).

I did a Short Test on those 4 and thay passed it.

I tried Long Test bu computer began to give the noise and test didn't progresed, I loose control and stopped it with boot button.

    It doesn't look well!

You will have to test them all individually. Test the hard drives with a diagnostic utility downloaded from the drive mftr.'s website or use Seagate's SeaTools For DOS. You will create a bootable CD with the file you download. You will need third-party burning software to do this such as Roxio, Nero, or the free ImgBurn. Burn as an image, not as data.

    http://www.imgburn.com

    http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=201271 (how-to)

Boot with the CD you made and do a thorough test of all the drives. If a drive fails any physical tests, replace it.
