I am trying to setup up my new Vista 64 Home Premium laptop to use as a DAW.  I do not need to run any interent on the laptop, but wish there was a way to rid myself of all interent and other un needed memory using background programs/devices for my DAW work, then without hassle turn it on for updates to software/drivers etc.  Any suggestions?

Hi,

Open regeidt from start search.

In registry editor, go to location

HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run

and

HKCU\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run

Take back up of the key and delete every thing from the right hand side from both the hives

OK I did this, but there are apparently devices running that do more than just internet connections, because I removed all the devises I thought where that and got a startup to a blue screen. From there I was able to run the recovery module and go back to an earlier restore point thank god, but I'm clueless which device/driver I stopped loading that did this. Now what, remove one at a time, reboot and see what happened till I find the culprit? Wouldn't it be easier for you just to tell me what I can stop and what I should leave alone?

    Hi bobshoaf,

You can disable the internet connectivity on your computer by simply disabling the LAN or wireless adapter (whichever you are using). You can enable the network adapter anytime and access the internet.
