Error code 2@01010013

I've got a DELL Latitude D830, installed Windows7 64Bit Enterprise edition. When I connect my Buffalo Silicon USB Hard disk 100GB SSD with a 500 MB DOS Partition and the rest an NTFS Partition to this system I cannot see the NTFS partition. In the disk management I can see it but it has no drive letter and the properties cannot be displayed nor changed. Instead I get an error message in the system event log from the source VDS Basic Provider with the code 2@01010013.

On any other system the SSD drive works properly.

Does anybody know why?

    Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

    ·         Are you using the RC (Release Candidate) version or RTM (Release to Manufacturing) version of Windows seven?

If you are using the RC version, you have to wait until the full version is released. If you are using the RTM version do the following steps which can help resolve your issue.

    1. Click on start and type diskmgmt.msc on search bar (on Run command)
    2. This will open the Disk Management interface that is displaying all connected hard drives and partitions.
    3. Now select Drive from lower half of your disk management interface which doesn’t have any drive letter.
    4. Right Click & Select “Change Drive Letter and Paths” from the context menu.
    5. Now click on the Add button in the next menu and pick a drive letter from the pull down menu.
    6. Click ok to assign selected drive letter and check your windows explorer or my computer to confirm missing drive of windows 7 is shown up or not.

Check the link Change, Add, or remove  a drive letter http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Change-add-or-remove-a-drive-letter

Hi diana, i also have the same error. with vista 64bit all updates are current as of 11/15/2009

i attempted to do what you suggested several times and it does not work, it simply causes explorer.exe to hang up and the only way to recover is to unplug the drive form the usb slot.

I also tried attempting to format, formatting it on another computer it works fine on windows xp 32bit home and prem.

when i do attempt to change the drive letter it freezes, and Ive also tried this in safe mode and it doesnt work, tried getting updates on the drive and still nothing just freezing up.

also if i leave it plugged in and restart it windows will not start it just stops at splash screen.

also tried changing the jumper settings on the drive nothing.
