when accessing recycle bin, it just continues to load and never stops and no deleted files are showing up. tried right click to empty recycle bin, but it does not seem to work. tried disk clean up, and it gets stock when it reaches recycle bin. same thing happens when i use an antivirus scan. computer hangs.

Hi mcramento,

Thank you for taking the time to post.

Are you by chance using Symantec Antivirus (Norton), if so please review the following link. I’m not sure if this will help if you are using Vista.

http://service1.symantec.com/support/nsw.nsf/ba62122e5d142a6588256d87006b22be/0eb4c314b4cff7a385256e24004e2573?OpenDocument

Can you boot into Safe Mode and see if you can empty the Recycle Bin and or access it? Tap the F8 key on restart and select Safe Mode.

Do you have any other issues accessing Control Panel or anything like that?

Please let us know.

Thanks,

Keith

    Keith,

    I have the same problem.

When opening the recycle bin it hangs. The status bar moves across the top of the window and even seems to go a little too far.

It never stops and the mouse cursor remains as the arrow with the spinning circle when in that window. No file names are displayed.

Symantec Antivirus is not being used.

The recyle bin behaves the same in safe mode.

There does not seem to be any problems using the Control Panel.

It doesn't keep me from working but it worries me. Does it means that eventually the hard drive will be full?

    Thanks

    Tom aka Bokaratom
