I sent emails last night - no problems - didnt close down or anything. Now this morning cant send but can receive emails. I get the following error message

An unknown error has occurred.

Subject 'test email'

Server Error: 550

Server Response: 550 IP address 92.30.47.181 in XBL

Server: 'mail.gkdsifa.co.uk'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC69

Protocol: SMTP

Port: 25

Secure(SSL): Yes

I own a 4 month old Sony Vaio laptop - use norton 360 3.0 - and windows live mail - and windows 7. At the same time as the sending of emails stopped my Norton 360 seemed to have switched itself off and nothing I would do would switch it back on again (wouldnt do live update or anything) - a restart resolved this and norton now says fully protected.

What have I tried to fix it? - I have gone to the "outgoing messages require authentication" and ensured ticked. I have gone into Norton and disabled email scanning - but no effect. Driving me nuts. Have used the email perfectly for 4 months without a hitch, and woke up this morning to this which seems very odd??

Can anyone help please?

What do you mean there's no support for LIVE MAIL USERS?

Try asking in the Windows Live Mail Forum:

I wish I knew.. I have done the same thing... used live mail flawlessly.. worked fine last night and early this morning.  No settings have been changed.  I checked with Time warner.. and the web mail works just fine.  I can receive but cannot send.  ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STOPPED SENDING.  emails are piling up in my outbox.  NO ONE seems to be able to help me.  I have been all over the board with Time Warner and with Microsoft.  It seems that there is no support for LIVE MAIL USERS.  ANYONE HAVE A CLUE.. ?

The error message indicates that the IP address your PC has been assigned by your Internet service provider (it looks like it's Carphone Warehouse Broadband Services/Opal Telecommunications) is in a blackhole list used by the domain of your recipient to filter out spam traffic.  You need to inform your ISP of this so they can get the address range removed from the blackhole list.

Sometimes deleting the Outbox cures the issue. Try it:

Close WLM. Open Windows Explorer, navigate to your store folder which, if you haven't moved it, is the hidden folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\ and delete Outbox. If you receive an ‘in use’ message, boot to Safe Mode (tap F8 when you switch on) and delete it.
