Problems starting DHCP service Error 2:

Anonymous

I now have two problems: 1) Initially my daughter could not get connected to the internet and my investigation showed that DHCP would not start with and error code 2: something about a file cannot be found. 2) During my attempts to fix the problem I screwed up the password for the DHCP service.

How can I reset the DHCP security settings and how can I debug the error 2 missing file? Please help.. thanks

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft answers forum.

Please Click on Start, in the serach box, type Services.

On the Services Window, look for the DHCP Client, right click on it.

    Select Properties,

On the  DHCP Client Properties Window, click the Log On Tab, and select log on as 'Local System Account'.

    Click on Ok.

You should be able to logon without using password.
