Hello gwarboy2000,
Thank you for posting your question to the Microsoft Answers Forum.
The error you are getting, "The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process" is because the default settings for services may have been changed.
We need to check what accounts you are starting services under.
Go to Start button, right-click on Computer, choose Manage. Then double click on Services. This will bring up the Services configuration.
Since you are getting these error messages when you attempt to open the network configuration, we need to look at four network services and their default configurations: If the default settings are different, we need to change them.
Network Connection:
Status: Started
Startup Type: Manual
Log on As: Local System
Network List Service
Status: Started
Startup Type: Automatic
Log on As: Local Service
Network Location Awareness
Status: Started
Startup Type: Automatic
Log on As: Network Service
Network Service Interface Service
Status: Started
Startup Type: Automatic
Log on As: Local Service
The Windows Event Log service:
Status: Started
Startup Type: Automatic
Log on As: Local Service
The Local System account is a predefined local account that can start a service and provide the security context for that service. The actual name of the account is NT AUTHORITY\System.
The Local Service account is a special built-in account that has reduced privileges similar to an authenticated local user account. The actual name of the account is NT AUTHORITY\LocalService.
Please reply back with the results of these tests and if you need further assistance. We will be glad to help you if you are still having an issue.
Sincerely,
Marilyn
