To answer your original question directly, you can't do it using only Command Prompt.  You need to use one of the products provided above using the procedures provided above (or find another alternative - there are probably other options available but this seems like an adequate number to provide as recommendations).

What additional help do you require?  We've answered your question.  We've provided many ways to accomplish the objective of making a bootable recovery disk even if none were exactly the way you requested because that can't be done (though one that re-installs would have to be obtained from the manufacturer or borrowed from someone with a genuine Vista Installation Disk of the same bit-size).

I don't know what else to say.

Good luck!

I happen to like http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html for burning CDs/DVDs and have recommended it for the Neosmart disk mentioned by Spirit above ever since I started using that disk (which is, by the way, the choice of Recovery Disk I would make as well).  I've suggested it hundreds of times (maybe more) and I've yet to hear a single complaint or a single problem with using it.

I hope this helps. Sometimes too many choices makes it hard to select - especially if you aren't familiar with the products (and you aren't familiar or you wouldn't have asked the question).  So I offer you a single choice that I recommend and that I know from lots of cases works - the two products mentioned above.  They will do what you need.

    Good luck!

You'll probably need third party software (such as Nero etc.) to burn a bootable DVD unless you are solely talking about the above mentioned Recovery DVD or CD?
