Access the laptop's BIOS and check for the touchpad settings.  It could turned off or set to be "disabled" if any n"extra" mice are detected installed.

Hi,

Remove the TouchPad from the StartUp Group as it does not need to be there (Right Click

on it - Delete).

==========================================================

Many computers have hotkeys and other methods which disable the TouchPad so check

with the System maker's Support, their on-line documentation, and their forums.

==========================================================

If needed :

Control Panel - Device Manager - Mice and other pointing devices - Double Click on the

TouchPad - Driver tab - Update Driver (this will likely do nothing) - after it finishes Right

Click on the TouchPad - Uninstall - when it returns REBOOT (restart the computer). That

will refresh the driver stack.

Hopefully the TouchPad is working now. If not Download the Driver - Right Click on it -

Run as Admin.

If nothing works then you need the help of a real computer shop (not leeks and peeks at a

Best Buy or other Big Box Stores) or the System maker's Support.

Hope this helps.
